OVERVIEW
The Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption was established in accordance with article (63) from the Convention signed on (1/10/2003) to improve the capacity of and cooperation between States Parties to achieve the objectives set forth in the Convention and to promote the review of its implementation and making recommendations to improve its implementation. This conference of the States Parties is Held every two years.
Each State Party is to provide the conference with information on its programmes plans, practices and legislative and administrative measures to implement the Convention.
The first session of the conference was held from (10 to 14 December 2006) in Jordan, one year later the convention entered into force on 14 December 2005.
The second session of the conference was held from 28 January to February 2008 in Bali.
The third session of the conference will be held at the Sheraton Doha Resort and convention hotel in Doha from 9 to 13 November 2009.
During this conference many special events will be held. In view of the crucial nature of the matters to be considered by the conference at the session and the need to reach important decisions, Government representation at the highest political level is strongly encouraged.
